I am glad you took the initiative to put these interview calls online. They are interesting, and gives the rest of us a broader view of what the other Muslims are doing with their time and what their whole lives are based on..
I love especially the books part, and what kind of books these people have been reading. I am seeing a pattern here. I'd say people will a similar taste in books have been gravitating towards THIS niche :P
That was helpful. I am wondering which masjid this brother is referring to. I am also from NYC and am trying to start an online school for children to learn the basics of Islam because I do not have a physical location to use. Space has been a big obstacles for me from day 1. It sounds like the empty building owned by the masjid could possibly be used as an afterschool learning center? That is my goal...but I am sufficing with an online school which is not ideal for younger children. I would be interested in helping such an effort in the idle space of this masjid. Btw, these videos have motivated me tremendously.
