  2. i posted other because it makes a big difference what i am talking about, not just the content, but my expertise in the content. If its something i am passionate about, something i have personally put together and experienced, it would aid my performance. also depends who i am presenting to, if i personally feel it is to people of higher 'status', be that in academia or social status, it makes a difference in how natural i could perform, or how much i would have to 'put on a show' to portray the most appropriate message to the audience.

  3. Other: I think overtime I have become more confident Alhumdulillah. It is more the public aspect and not the speaking that is frightening. But I know have overcome a lot of the anxiety by forcing myself into situations where I have to speak publicly Alhumdulillah. And it has helped. It's important that kids are raised in a loving and confidence-boosting environment, to say the least. This way they are less worried about what others think of them.

  4. Although I did choose no I believe this is obviously relevant to what some of the other commentators stated.

when I first started out I would 'duck and dive' from public speaking, but over the years I have got better at it and also been trained professionally by ex-BBC reporter Alistar McDonald through my works place.

I had the opportunity to do a public speech at the Home Office in the UK, ministers and academics were presented; Alhamdullilah did a good job there.

Since then I have also been trained in PTTLS [preparing to teach in the livelong sector] so have been able to hone my talking to have a lot of value to the listener, further I have learnt some excellent usage of tools like powerpoint to make some killer presentations by reading presentationzen and learning from some experts in that field.

My point is that with the right training I believe anyone can master public presentation, the most important is going out and facing the fears.
